Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Question for techies:
I'm running XP Pro on an MSI 648 MAX Pentium IV with dual monitors (MSI gforce4 card).
Problem: RealPlayer 8 Basic runs fine on monitor 1, but picture goes black when I move it to monitor 2. Sound remains OK and other applications run on either monitor. Any ideas?

Fox - no meetings of the Iraqi National Congress (the dissident group) since 2-3 days before the war started.

OK, I'm up, can't sleep.
I have a very different feeling about the war, just in the last couple of hours. I don't know if it's because we all know that this is good versus evil on a huge scale. Or Because I have been praying almost non-stop since this began, but after some depressing moments yesterday when I felt that this could take a lot longer than I originally thought, suddenly now I feel that the tide has turned, that God will answer our prayers, that no more young girls will have to be hung just because they waved at coalition soldiers.
That the people of Iraq have suffered enough.
Enough of them will help us now, enough of them want to be free and to not live in this evil regime. I do feel in my heart that the tide has turned and we will see dramatic events in the next day or 2, and not just with Iraq but with OBL. Call me crazy and flame away. But I believe God is ultimately in charge of this war.

Sounds like RealPlayer doesn't know how to map to a second monitor. Stupid suggestion: why not open it from the second monitor, rather than moving it there? (i.e., open IE in the second monitor, go to the beginning of this thread, and punch up a new Realplayer from there.

The Iraqi National Congress is the group the U.S. govn't wants to act as an interim authority once Saddam's confirmed to be out of the picture. Their public meetings are mostly held in the UK or the US.
Quote of the day.
Major Bob Bevalaqua on FNC.
Paraphrasing a bit.
Is this pause in the war needed? Just as a butcher sharpens his knife before carving up his meat, the US military is sharpening it's knife.

Fox - no meetings of the Iraqi National Congress (the dissident group) since 2-3 days before the war started. The idea being that maybe they got shipped over to Iraq? (I thought they were supposed to have been being ignored by the CIA? Oh, wait: I think Rueters may have reported that one, too.)

Fox - Wash. Post to report that duration of the war "could now extend well into the summer" another report in the same newspaper says that Bush backs Rumsfeld's plan and that they're right on schedule.
