Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I've got a Direct-TV dish. I locked out (with a password) Lifetime, Oxy, We and the other "all men hating, all the time" channels. Oh yeah, MTV too.

Can anyone point me to a link or post yesterday about US medics deciding not to display the Red Cross on their vehicles because it was clear that the Iraqis were specially targeting them?News to me. But not surprising.

Baghdad: BOOM. BOOM BOOM. BOOM BOOM BOOM.
Tommy Franks had a briefing and politely beat the crap out of the reporters. Rummy was a couple morning news programs, as well as Gen. Myers. We captured a big cache of weapons south of Baghdad which'll take a week to destroy (Kerry Sanders). We captured some of their guys (don't know where) and killed a bunch of them. Someone drove a Nissan truck into a line of GIs as the waited to get into a PX in Kuwait. There was an Islamic Jihad homicide bombing in Israel--the bomber's dead, 30-40 injured, the guard at the door of the restaurant blocked the guy from getting in & killing more. Tim Russert ripped the guts out of the Iraqi UN Ambassador. The ambassador said suicide bombings were okay in wartime (paraphrase).
Rest of Iraq: BOOM. BOOM BOOM. BOOM BOOM BOOM. ACK ACK ACK.

Also, about an hour ago Fox reported that gunfire (not bombs or artillery) was heard in Baghdad. Don't know what thet means, although we always hope for the best.
