'BRING OUR TROOPS HOME'
Former Foreign Secretary Robin Cook has denounced the war in Iraq as "bloody and unecessary" and called on Tony Blair to bring Britain's troops home.
And he warned that Britain and America risked stoking up a "long-term legacy of hatred" for the West across the Arab and Muslim world.
The politician's resignation as Leader of the Commons was the most high-profile political protest against UK involvement in the war.
Mr Cook said President Bush and his defence secretary Donald Rusmsfeld did not appear to know what to do now their hopes that Iraq would swiftly capitulate had proved unfounded.
They appeared to be contemplating laying siege to Baghdad, which would result in massive civilian suffering and many unnecessary deaths, he said.
In the Sunday Mirror, Mr Cook wrote: "I have already had my fill of this bloody and unjust war. I want our troops home and I want them home before more of them are killed."
He attacked Mr Bush for "sitting pretty in the comfort of Camp David" while Allied forces risked death in an "unnecessary and badly planned" war.
"It is easy to show you are resolute when you are not one of the guys in a sandstorm peering around for snipers," he said.
"Nobody should start a war on the assumption that the enemy's army will co-operate. But that is exactly what President Bush has done.
"And now his Marines have reached the outskirts of Baghdad, he does not seem to know what to do next."
Mr Cook also raised concerns that the Iraq campaign could drag on for months and commended the decision to bring back the bodies of slain troops to be buried in Britain.

Let's call a defeat Victory. I'm sure Robin Cook will find a way to put a good spin on our having sacrificed men and munitions with nothing to show for it.

Kook shot his wad a week and a half ago when he knifed Blair in the back in the Commons. It's only a matter of time before he's an embittered old sot living in some London flophouse.

His true colors are now revealed. Cook is a disgrace. I can't say anything more in public without having to make an emergency trip to the confessional.

In the end, if there ever is one, we will find that Robin Cook is correct in his statements. Some of you need to wake up and realize what is really happening with this "war".

Pray tell, "what is really happening with this "war".
To: Linda
Why don't you tell us what is "really" happening with this war, since everybody else besides you and Robin Cook is too stupid to figure it out?

Think about this for a moment. This guy wants to be taken seriously, then makes the statement that the west risks fomenting hatred against it for our actions. Earth to Kook, there are presently in the neighborhood of 4287 active Jihads against us. I think we can safely say that every person who is disposed to hate us in the middle-east, already does.

This crosses the line. I hope Blair moves to expel him from the Labour Party.

What is really happening with this war is good vs. evil, and people are being shown for what they really are.
Of course I am sure Linda has another idea, but I just thought I'd put my two cents in.

This is your chance to wake us up.
Who was caught with all of that Ricin in England?
Was it before or after the war started?
Who was it that flew those plane into those buildings?
Was it before or after the war started?
Who was it that attacked the USS Cole?
Was it before or after the war started?
Who car bombed the the WTC in 1993?
Was it before or after the war started?
Who was it that bombed that night club in Bali?
Was it before or after the war started?
