Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Yet those same people don't have an open lunch date for three weeks, not to mention moving themselves and all their equipment 7000 miles!

It must be having an tangible effect for them to write letters to their government. I think so, too. The people of Canada are very nice, decent people and from what I am gathering from the posts written by Canadians and some of these articles is that they are shocked at the behavior of thier goverment.

God bless these brave men and comfort those who grieve. Never forget.

I think I am going to make it my wallpaper on my work computer.
My husband probably wouldn't like it too much if I did it on our home computer.

True. The Canadian government seems to be a bit out of touch with the people of that Nation. Except maybe Quebec. But then they are FRENCH canadian.

Just like the US, once you get out of the large population cesspools, you find real citizens, that have real integrity, honor.

"We have missiles called Hellfire and they have missiles called seersucker...you tell me who's gonna win this war!"
There is something kind of funny about a seersucker missile heading to the mall.

Thanks for posting the link to the YKYAMTAF thread. What a riot! I had no idea I was such a typical FReeper.
Now would you please tell me how the FR Pager works? I wonder what else I haven't found out about yet........

Sorry if this is already posted--can't keep up hereABC: Coalition forces have destroyed a building which was hosting a meeting of some 200 members of Iraq's ruling Baath Party in the Basra region, a US general said. "It was an attack against a Baath Party assembly north-east of Basra yesterday (Friday) evening," Brigadier General Vincent Brooks, deputy director of operations at US central command, told a daily briefing. "It had about 200 members of the Baath Party in attendance." Brigadier General Brooks followed the remarks with footage showing a missile or bomb dropped on the building, which appeared to be blown to smithereens.
(ever wonder what the origin of the word "smithereens" is?) Also, any one notice how we have not been given any enemy casualty numbers? Bill O'Reilly says his high up source is saying THOUSANDS (I won't even quote the number he stated because it seems too unreal).

I don't doubt they read polls but I don't believe that Bush's decisions are guided by polls.

I have two friends from western Canada, and they say, "While you're liberating people from dictators, how about helping us? We in the west call Chretien a dictator." Most Americans don't realize just how divided Canada is. The west produces the income, which gets spent on Ontario and Quebec.

Oh, no. Those special force guys are invaluable, brave, well trained, impossible to replace. Prayers for their families.

My wallpaper: two marines, one is steadying what "looks like" a .308 bolt action rifle on the shoulder of his buddy. It's the one on my profile page, without the Fox News frame.
