The movie looks corny. When I see a commercial too many times accompanied by trendy music, I wonder.

Interesting article on the north magnetic pole.

The science behind it is fascinating. It's almost like Volcano, which could technically happen but not really.

But will it affect Global Warming?

What influence would this have have upon the electrical effects, at the surface of the earth, of solar flares? As the magnetic field decreased would the electrical effects of such flares decrease, increase, remain the same?

"But will it affect Global Warming?"I don't know about that but I do know this magnetic flip is all about oil!! And another thing. What did President Bush know about this flip and when did he know it???

Too many batteries being discarded in landfills. :-)

In all likihood...it is global warming. The pole likely has a major connection to weather.

Someone was telling me about this a couple of weeks ago - there is a goofy theory about something called "Planet X" that is supposedly going to pass close to Earth and invert the poles.

Placing magnetic sensors on the ice the expedition attempts to surround the magnetic pole and triangulate its correct position. But each time they go back it's moved."We're following it across the ice," Larry Newitt told BBC News Online. "It jumps around from day to day and year to year and we have to keep track of it."Maybe I'm stupid to suggest this but could the ice be moving. Nah, they would surely take a star sighting or GPS reading if possible to make sure their sensors are exactly where they left them.

Well just be sure to realize that this will impact women and minorities the hardest. Oh yeah, and the children too.

Someone was telling me about this a couple of weeks ago - there is a goofy theory about something called "Planet X" that is supposedly going to pass close to Earth and invert the poles. There are many variations of the theory, some goofy and some not. Connection to Planet X is minimal.
The pole switching and (related) rapid continental changes theory was developed by Hapgood and was endorsed by Einstein.
