For those incapable of searching for "silkworm missile" at google.com, I present the following:

The Haiying-1 (HY-1), Silkworm is a Chinese-made, anti-ship, surface-to-surface missile system. The Silkworm has a maximum range of 95 kilometers.

The Silkworm is derived from the Societ SS-N-2 Styx.

It was originally developed as a coastal defence missile. The missile was later modified for launching from Luda Class destroyer and other surface ships.

NATO Designation : CSSC-2. CSS-N-1.

Silkworm is an anti-ship missile. As to whether it was on the banned list, there's an interesting conundrum.

If it were fired FROM land and hit land, then it might be considered a "surface to surface" missile, which was NOT banned....except for range. If a surface to surface missile exceeded 150 km, then it has a range exceeding Iraq sanctions.

That's the conundrum: Is it a surface to surface? And if so, does one judge its legality by the missile's possible range, or by the range it actually travelled (which we don't know yet.
