Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I agree with that, however, the article in question (and most of the other's I've seen) claims that the mere presence of the protective gear is "proof" that Iraq has / intends to use Chem Weapons.
I didn't know that the atropine needed to have been reported to UNMOVIC - interesting - but, even this is not "proof". Lets be serious. All of these items serve "defense" only and one could assume that Iraq has a genuine fear that the Coalition might use Chem Weapons. Therefore the existence of these items is a logical necessity. Could they be used to protect Iraqi's during an Iraqi Chem Attack - of course!
I've heard a few rumors about these barrels / drums - I would love to see a good report! I would immediately rub it in UNMOVIC's, Germany's, France's and the Dem/Lib's faces!

He's got some kind of bracket there, to hold a spare. You'd think if it was upside down, there would be less dust and water accumulated on the ammo?
To: Tree of Liberty
The carbon-filament bomb basically falls across power lines and generators, thereby closing the circuit and shorts out the grid. Sounds easier to repair this damage than that of the other "frying" e-bomb.

Fox - Levanthal back on live. Had to pack up video phone since they're getting ready to head out. Authorized to say that Iraqi's have been seen in full MOP-4 gear moving 50 gallon drums and "other items". Recent reports from Marine sources. Other intel. sources that regard chemical AND BIO weapons sites, can't get into it any further than that. Our MOP suits are better than theirs.
To: An.American.Expatriate
It's not just the chemical protection suits which were found, though... it's what was with some of the stashes of suits they found.
Chembio shells don't look like regular explosive shells, and they were found in the vicinity of such clothing and masks. There were reports that Marines also captured a chemical weapons specialist. funny how so many sources only focus on the suits.

Three magazines taped together - two up, one down = tight little bundle of quick reloading joy for anyone on the other side of those iron sights.

You're welcome, amigo. When I retire to my cosy bed tonight, I'll be saying a prayer for our lads who don't have that luxury available at the moment:
US Marines from the 2nd batallion, 8th Marine wake up in a mud field after heavy sand storms early in the morning of 26 March in Nasiriyah
To: Byron_the_Aussie
Yeah. The water isn't so much of a concern, since all the mags I've seen have a few holes, so it would just drain through. Dirt's another matter, and the M-4 has fairly tight tolerances.
To: An.American.Expatriate
I thought he was saying that we were the ones that might use bio stuff.
