Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

President Bush yesterday told Russia and other antiwar nations to stop playing politics with Iraq's oil-for-food program by blocking its resumption as a way of protesting the U.S.-led war.
"This urgent humanitarian issue must not be politicized," Mr. Bush said in a joint press conference
with British Prime Minister Tony Blair. "More than half the Iraqi people depend on this program as
their sole source of food."

I think I know what's going on now with the war and in the end the libs aren't going to like it one bit. One thing the news hasn't mentioned (just a piece of the puzzle ) is that our intel is getting flooded with reliable information from the ground that may effect our plans to a great degree. Not a bad thing, just slows things down.

I've never understood the "if we do this to them, they might do this to us" mentality. Most of the "peace" protesters are only out there because of their hatred of the President, that shouldn't excuse their anti-American behavior/beliefs. If only the networks would report about who is backing the dissenters.

I saw your link at #189, but it looks like you have to know someone -- do you have any links through which those of us who don't know anyone personally in the armed forces can contribute something?

You're right, of course. I should be using "DNC" in place of dems.

I must have misread or made an incorrect assumption. I thought it was about the future rather than current action/non-action.

And the Antonov is even bigger. There's one leased by Erickson Air Crane here in Medford that flies in quite often, and my goodness...talk about HUGE planes!
It's literally like watching a skyscraper land! And when they land and turn around, the backwash from the jets is enough to knock you off your feet!

I think you're right and that in some cases, intelligence updates are more urgent than a rush north.
