Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Alcee Hastings, Robert Wexler, Peter Deutch UGH. At least Clay Shaw is in my district.

C-5 big as 757 maybe. It's the huge mil transport that can open front and rear clamshell doors to onloiad/offload equipment.
They are hangar queens. Fly 1 day, down 2 days.
To: hmmmmm
A C-5 is 247ft. long. A 747-400, by comparison, is 231ft. 10in. long.

Thank You.

Are carbon-filament bombs a very weak version of the "e-bomb" that's been talked about?

C-5, 4 engine. "tee tail".
To: hmmmmm
Sky put it up as breaking so this must be a new incident or new intel.
To: hmmmmm
It's a kind of e-bomb. The one most talked about sends out high-powered microwaves that fry all the computer chips in the blast radius. The carbon-filament bomb basically falls across power lines and generators, thereby closing the circuit and shorts out the grid.

Thank you! Now I know I have seen them I just didn't know the name. Is there anything we don't have.

C-130s, C-141Bs and C-17s are the majority of the heavy airlift.
Busy airfield I bet right now.

That's really dumb from a tactical standpoint. It's not like they have a supply line to get them more ammo.
