Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I'm not surprised. The Medina Division ceased to be an effective fighting force with the Apache attack on Sunday.
This was a mech unit that sent a quarter of its force against 3 ID on foot and in Toyota trucks on Tuesday.
All the naysayers are probably doing Daschles in their pants.

Now you have to change your screen name to "Anonymous".

They could be smaller convoys to avoid attack...and we have total air power for cover.

To: Fledermaus
Think of it though, he's moving 25mph towards Bag, we've heard constantly that they were 50 miles out of Bag, Im no mathemetician, but that puts them IN the city in 2 hours
Not Greta but the FNC babe who just did the update?
Lordy

All of the URLs I normally check for the live feeds seem kaput. I wonder if the building finally collapsed. Or perhaps the newsies are looking for a less exciting location.

FN: Greg Kelly w/ Army 3 ID: "Fedayeen militia were fighting hard...caused the 3ID a bit of a headache for a few days...there's no really telling how many are left...est. from 10-100 thous. 101st Airborne relieved us and we're moving out...rejoining the main brigade...continued push to Baghdad in several hours..." "not going really fast...maybe 25 mph...bldgs. fairly low....nothing more than one or two stories..." "We're just going from one brigade position to another brigade position..." Re. Fedayeen " they would just come at us in waves and they didn't seem afraid of dying..." "they come at us...in trucks..side by side..." (& Get killed). "The days are long. Sometimes the days are never ending....you eat when you can... but they've been fascinating..."

"Clinton: "He is a threat. He's a murderer and a thug. There's no doubt we can do this. We're stronger; he's weaker. You're looking at a couple weeks of bombing and then I'd be astonished if this campaign took more than a week. Astonished."I heard Rush reading this today. He said it is where all the media got the idea that this was going to be fast and easy.
#&@% *&$#% media. They will listen to a Clymer and not anyone who knows what they are talking about.
