Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Where is the NPR interview?By the time I saw your question to me you've probably seen post #3019. He definitely was setting the bar very high.
As you know it is especially infuriating because the malicious idiots in the press briefings keep saying it was the Bush administration that set that expectation. I am so glad Ari gave quotes today with dates and they did never said it would be a matter of days.
I'll bet clinton is egging these reporters on behind the scenes with faux concern over this expectation when he was one who put the idea out there.
Well, President Bush will achieve victory, but it ticks me off to see the press treat him with such disdain and grant him no credibility. Evidently they still hang on every word of a known pervert and liar.

Yes, but he did so for his principles I believe, not out of lying, he did what he did to get our men out of Iran, legal or not, it was honorable I think

I saw it AFTER I asked that question.

You know, I have just realized that I can follow several conversations at once on these threads. I wonder if I can translate that into a marketable skill. ATC (Air Traffic Control)
Radio traffic net operator
Many uses

But it requires more than just a name. I mean, I could have said my name was Harvey Thourogood, but there's nothing you could do with that name

"The Clinton's had to be assinged agents."
I used to run volunteer rescue with a couple secret service agents in Virginia back in '92-93. Boy did they have some stories. They could not stand the Clintons AT ALL.

There is a thread on the other side that says Turkey is in panic mode because the Kurds and US Spec Ops are within 10 miles of Kirkuk..
Begging us to stop the kurds......:-)

I'd be very interested to hear those stories

Anybody else notice that Bob Woodward sounds like Joe Lieberman
A most beautiful sight for us former Uncle Sugar's Flying Circus members. C-17s stacked up.

I agree with you. I especially desire to humiliate Bill Plant and Terry Moran, who have been carrying Bubba's water for the past three days. They attacked Ari mercilessly, and it has me ticked off.
Time to call the media again, particularly my local affiliates.
To: Miss Marple
You? You are extremely marketable, m'dear! ;-)

I think after their near genocide of Armenians a century ago, and their surpression of the Kurds, the Turks need to open up a big can of STFU.
Here is what I see happening. Turkey is going to lose part of their southern border, Iraq it's northern border to a new Kurdistan. The oil fields there will make it a wealthy country. Turkey will lose the oil revenue, but gain security, by having all the pissed off Kurds out of their country, getting fat on oil profits.
They can join the EU, bully the french around, and call it a win.

You're right. The same "failed diplomacy" that Daschle said had forced their hand into military force in '98 when Clinton passed the Iraqi Liberation Act.
What he doesn't seem to get is that if diplomacy had gone swimmingly, we'd still be at war but with more countries aiding us. 'course nobody wants the French near them in battle.

I'm going to jump in here for just a bit. I saw you say several days ago what your age was and I was impressed with your level of maturity at your age and understanding (and interest) in what is going on in the world right now. However, I think that this issue of putting your name on this forum, along with the state you reside in, is not in your best interest. Because you can not see any potential problem with that I believe to be indicative of your age. I mean no insult by saying that - but many of us on this forum are well beyond 17 yrs old and at your age might have had the same response as you right now. In this case - heed the advice of your elders. : )
