There is a thread on the other side that says Turkey is in panic mode because the Kurds and US Spec Ops are within 10 miles of Kirkuk..

I think after their near genocide of Armenians a century ago, and their surpression of the Kurds, the Turks need to open up a big can of STFU.

Here is what I see happening. Turkey is going to lose part of their southern border, Iraq it's northern border to a new Kurdistan. The oil fields there will make it a wealthy country. Turkey will lose the oil revenue, but gain security, by having all the pissed off Kurds out of their country, getting fat on oil profits.

They can join the EU, bully the french around, and call it a win.
