Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I think he's serious about it and he'll do what needs to be done. He did personally authorize that bombing the other day (yesterday? still having trouble with the timing :)).

Michael Wilson, CNN embed with 1st Bat/10th Marines.
Unit fought off disorganized attack by enemey on their arty units. Arty units kind of surprised to be attacked like that.

Can you imagine be awakened by the shouts of gas gas gas *L*. You make a good point about them holding in place. Maybe a leapfrog type scenario?

I have a feeling we will be taking them [the Fedayeen] on again down the road somewhere. I doubt it. From what I understand, they are personally loyal to Saddam. Some (or many) of them may dissolve into other terrorist groups, but I'll bet the Fedayeen as an organization never trouble us again once the war is done and Saddam is dead.

Perhaps we've already hit alot of it, or perhaps we're waiting until it's centralized in the RG units around baghdad before we strike. It's tough doing armchair military planning when we only have a scintilla of the intelligence that the generals do.

Did the MSNBC camera go out on your computers?
Do you have RealPlayer? The CBS cam is going strong.

the signal for Gas is to put your arms out at your sides, and bring your fists to shoulders 3 times....yelling GAS GAS GAS
My husband does it when he farts. It seriously loses the humor. Now the kids have picked up the slack.
