Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Does that mean they re-wrote the program and made a goof in it? yep.
To: prairiebreeze
No, you didn't miss Helen. She just asked a fairly tame question about sending over more troups..She appeared to have been tranked early.

You are being willfully blindNo, you are saying "In theory, this doesn't mean anything". We don't live in theory. We live in reality. The Iraqis have NO reason to believe we will unilaterally use chemical weapons. They HAVE used them and they HAVE threatened to use them on us. We HAVE NEVER used them and we HAVE NEVER threatened to use them.
When our troops see them in their chemical suits, it only means one thing. You can deny that all you want or claim it doesn't prove anything. It obviously DOES prove something to the guys on the ground or nothing would have been said.

Yawn...who cares what they say right?

Perhaps I should put it in a closet and take up the oboe. No, that won't do either. The oboe came to us from the Turk (Islamic) invasions of the 15th and 16th centuries. Let me suggest you give up music altogether and take up Lacrosse, a game which originated among the Indian tribes in the Great Lakes region....

Now Moron........err I mean Moran just called Iraqi soldiers patriots. The line of questioning from the reporters today seems to be to try to get Ari to say the administration underestimated the Iraqi resistance.
Yes, that is their democrat talking points. They have to try to paint President Bush and the military as unprepared or uninformed or mean invaders. They are so disgusting I just have no more words.

My brother is an army vet and called me to say he recognized the guy we put in charge of the Kurds in the north. He said "He is a guy who was in Vietnam in a big battle. Jimmy Carter demoted him for criticizing him for some stupid decision long ago and he won't be happy to see him here." My brother said we picked a VERY EXPERIENCED guy.
To: Wphile
Excellent!! I believe cyncooper mailed him that information yesterday!

Is it just me or have these press briefings become nothing but an attack by press and defense by administration. I have not heard more than one or two questions of any value in days. Does anyone know if there is a list anywhere with info for what news agencies are represented at these press briefings and who the reporters are with contacts.
To: BulletBobCo
The press reminds me of a care full of children
are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet

He only mentioned it briefly so I hope he goes back to it. He mentioned the Adelman article too and said Adelman is out there apologizing for it and saying he was wrong.

"Take up the sousaphone or a fife! They are pretty All-American!"
Great idea! I'll go for the fife; it would fit better on the back of my AMERICAN-MADE Harley Davidson!
To: pitinkie
The guy Terry is such an @ss!!!!!!!! Why cant they let it go about resistance...the war plan adjusts accordingly!
We could insert any name of the reporters at this presser and call them @sses. (excepting Jim Angle)

Did you see the ignore this thread?Yep, I saw it. I was thinking of posting my question over there too. I've been seeing this for the last 2 or 3 days.
To: r9etb
The question is whether the existence of chemsuits and atropine represents real proof that the Iraqis have WMD. You will never have REAL PROOF, even if they use them. You can never adequately convince someone of something they don't want to believe. If the Iraqis use chems, I'll find you a forum where people say it didn't happen.
If you were in the field, would it trouble you if you found them? It would trouble me enough to do something. That's proof enough. They have threatened to use them. Combine that with the suits and you have proof enough.

All he is saying is that maybe these guys are wearing their chem suits because they were told that we would use ours on them (out of context of course) - ( after all, GW did say whatever it takes ). They have a different culture, they (like the Rats) believe what the head rats tell em!
