Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

for some reason I just assumed they were ours.... It may even be true. However, I'm suspicious of any camera that Saddam's government chooses to allow to operate 24/7.

easy to see what is going on with the French. They are in absolute panic mode, the boycott is already having an effect and worse, GWB is determined to shut them out of all reconstruction contracts in Iraq.
Therefore, the French game is to backpeddle quickly, and attempt to wear-out our anger. Any takers?

Oh, I agree totally. They are both very good people, but it almost seems a status symbol for their generation maybe, to listen to NPR.

Was refering to nully's very bad pun at 1807!

What message would that be "they are blowing our parka/burkas off our arses" Or "put on your chemsuits and start lobbing VX shells." The Iraqis aren't all as stupid as Saddam.

I remember there was a reporter on this roof, and then he got kicked out of bagdad..but the camera is still there...

Sadd-ists, Saddam-y(ists), Sad-damn...it's too easy...almost scary how his name can be used for evil.

Don't believe there is Naval Construction Battalion 74...there is a 3, 4, 5, and 40 based out of Port Hueneme, CA, and NMCB 4 is over there.
Not trying to be picky..just for clarification purposes only.
They are called SeaBees. Their motto is "SeaBees Can Do"

Even if we don't find any WMD once we liberate Iraq, it won't mean that they didn't have them. They are having all this time to destroy all traces of them as we carefully advance on Baghdad. If you were in charge of WMD in Iraq and given a choice between keeping the WMD's and being tried for war crimes afterwards, or destroying them and then "innocently" surrendering to the Americans (while giving them a political black eye in the process), what would YOU do?

Okay, let's see how many anti-American questions the press corps ask today.
To: SoldiersGirl
any chance they don't know about them? Somebody knows about them -- they've been moved. Remember when the MSNBC cam was looking at the sky for a while, and now it's pointed back at the street?

I think you're right, but I don't see my anger dissipating any time soon. French products have been banned from our house, and my French Horn is now referred to as just "the horn". Perhaps I should put it in a closet and take up the oboe.

Ari: This is part of the pre-existing plan.
Q (bill plante) France said that supports US win.
Ari: cannot imagine that an ally would not want to win.
