Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Awwwww, here is a Centcom reporter worried about the embedded reporters in a chemical attack. "As you get closer to Baghdad, what will happen with the embedded reporters program?" I notice he isn't worried about our troops. Just his competition, who is giving real time truth reports from the front. Wish I'd caught which organization he was from.....

Those are the four countries that immediately come to mind. The world changed in more ways than we knew after 9/11 and keeps changing.
Definitely a change in tone today. Wanna bet they got a little lecture from a public relations officer who also happens to carry a gun.

Finally FOX appears to have multiple live cams on Baghdad.
Where do these journalists get their news...the morning Qatar Times? From their questions you'd think they hadn't had fresh news since yesterday.

I know, was talking to Texkat about that yesterday. Don't get me started again. I promised my kids that I would watch the cussing. ;0)

Each & every embedded reporter not only knew what he was getting into, but you can bet they signed a stack of waivers that was about a foot thick.

GMA decided not to show the video of us dropping off aid. Once positive images were shown, they cut back to NYC, and Gibson said something to the effect that not everyone greeting us with a smile.
jerk.

Whining that taking out Iraqi tv is against Geneva Convention.
Hey - Butt Head - how about asking whether using children as human shields is against the Geneva Convention?
Who did he say he worked for? Heard independent.

What is the problem with these press idiots? A real investigation into the marketplace explosion is next to impossible. There were people cleaning up the area at the end of the video of the market. The late Saddam's boys collect our bomb and missile fragments from real targets and can salt them anywhere. They did it in 1991.

They gave press credentials to a freelancer? Heck, that means I can go to Doha and be a Freep reporter.
