Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Given today's techno age, if Rummy said it they should be able to give date, time if not audio. They can't do it. This will go down as urban legend.

Is the press there? Are we going to be subjected to Helen's blatherings?Q & A now. HelenHag is strictly WH. This is Camp David. Too much of a wilderness for her.
To: Mo1
Plus he emphasized that the Iraqi people need to know this. We will fight however long it takes to win. We will remove Saddam Hussein, and liberate Iraq, and we will take however long it takes for victory.

Pres. Bush first US president to commit to a 2 state Israel/Palestine solution---Blair quote Would that be a slam at Clinton?

No, Rummy didn't. The media and their retired "experts" made up this idea that we could waltz in there and take over a country in a few days. Now the press is upset that the real world is not living up to their nintendo view of things. Media expected a sanitized war where Iraqi people embrace us as liberators and the Republican Guards throw their hands up and surrender. Since it is not quite turning out that way it must be the military's fault, right? (sarcasm)
To: DollyCali
I also disagree that S&A has failed. Who ever said that the result of that would be that the whole gov't would immediately fold? Not Rummy or Franks or Bush, I assure you. They have maintained from day one this would be a longer conflict than some believed.
Really, there are indications that large parts of the Iraqi military have folded and we have not had to deal with the entire "might" of the Iraqis, and if there were some way to get rid of the thugs in the military/paramilitary who have shown themselves willing to slay their own comrades-in-arms, many more would have folded. To maintain that this is not an act of this play just waiting in the wings for now is premature.
But then, I've always been an incurable optimist of the "Polyanna" degree...

VERY interesting that Clinton 'set up' the President.
Do you have the cite??

Too much of a wilderness for her. It's feared that Helen might follow her genetic programming and run snorting, off into the woods.

It's quieting down a lot now - it's difficult to discern the horizon, except for the intermittant flashes from ordinance going off. Still now sound.
To: Mo1
I think so. :^) at least an amazing public acknowlegement to GWB from Blair
