Fox News: "A convoy of Iraqi armor was spotted racing away from Basra at Noon today, followed by fist fights among allied fighter pilots for who got the right to kill all of the easy targets..."LOL!

But then they should have gone north out of Basra, and apparently they went south.

I too, wonder why they would expose themselves so easily as sitting ducks. Saddam may be crazy, but he isn't stupid.Sometimes being dead, or critically injured, can impair your judgment.

I heard that the Marines use a play on words, and call him... "So damn Insane, So damn Insane." Instead of Saddam Hussein.

They must have believed the baloney coming over Iraqi TV about how Allied forces are being defeated all over Iraq. They figured if they any encountered allied forces they would crush the invaders.

Our boys have been alomst non-stop combat for two days now and must be in dire need of a breather. For some of them, that seems to be very true. But it also seems like some units have barely been engaged at all. I imagine that different regiments/battalions are taking the lead at various times, so it shouldn't be too bad yet.
But you make a very valid point. Troops do need a breather. I expect they may get it when they get to Baghdad and sit for a few days.

Nothing is as it seems in Iraq.
Saddamn's (sic) soldiers wear civilian clothes and American uniforms.
Who knows, maybe these idiots were not troops at all, but real civilians forced by the peaceful Iraqi "soldiers" to drive down their road of doom and leave the town filled with murderous minions who will pretend to be civilians.
I think we should just bomb 'em all and not take any chances. Anyone else remember the "innocent" women and children who made up the Viet Cong?

Heard that thirty trucks were destroyed, but I have children that are screaming for cartoons, so I am not a reliable source, at the moment. Sorry!

This has to represent the most ferocious fighting-setback for the US-led, George Bush sponsored, coalition forces to date!
If CNN says it, it must be true. (Sarcasm at its finest)

Those media reports about coalition forces being bullies should be impacting any minute now...Absolutely, and wait until we start to see the collapse. They will go berserk.....Today at the Pentagon briefing some nit wit news schill said, in response to the Pentagon spokeswomen's tirade against the Fedeyeen Sadaam loyalists and their despicable and UNLAWFUL tactics, "Isn't that to be expected in a time of war?" You know damn well he would be apopletic if we were doing 1/10th of what they have done.
