This was predictable once they got on that road.

Maybe the guy at the head of the column got his directions screwed up as they were leaving town.

"I'm taking a left here at the intersection?"

"Right."

"Oh, okay."

I too, wonder why they would expose themselves so easily as sitting ducks. Saddam may be crazy, but he isn't stupid. Do you think the head of the command and control is so damaged, that the generals thought we would fight them in hand-to-hand combat? Do you really think there is a danger of chemical weapons left in Baghdad?

The master military mind of Saddam strikes again. Oops! He did it again.

I hope the bozo brigade from Bag-dad hears about this, or should I say 'I hope they don't'. Shooting fish in a barrel isn't the most sporting sort of hunting, but if it works, don't fix it.

Tomorrow's NY Times Headline:

Iraqi column of vehicles leaving Basra have been mostly destroyed but Coalition Forces expend more rounds than planned.

Come on boys, let's get rid of that qualifier "mostly."

Maybe they saw one hubcap spinning amidst the char and rubble and had to run the story before it finally settled in the dust.

A guy on FOX speculated that they were trying to escape the city under the cover of the sand storm

As weird as it sounds, Sky news has not been reporting on this over the last 20 minutes.

Yeah that is what I was thinking. Sandstorm and night. But they should have understood it was still stupid.

You're assuming that he's still calling the shots....
