Just monitored on Sky News: embedded reporter says Shiites in Basra have begun, in his words, a "popular uprising" against the Saddam forces still in the city. British Army units are "pouring" artillery into the city (likely isolated areas) preparing to move in.

No doubt this will cause headaches for the propaganda ministers in various Arab nations.

After our spirited discussion a couple of months ago about Lowyers and them becoming judges and leftist judges at that, I was stunned by your "bible thumping!"
See, even back then, here was another Doctor, bichin about the obnoxious Lowyers!!!

But none of those are individual rights - just the course of doing business with private entities.

Really? That is hard to believe, but it is great news if true.

I find this hard to believe.
Wouldn't they all look alike with black mustaches, brown skin, and not speaking with an English accent?

U.S. troops taking fire from a hospital. 200 machine guns , chemical suits, military uniforms, and a T-55 tank neutralized in a HOSPITAL!
I thought perhaps I'd seen the worst of what those bastards are capable of, but these latest developments have proven me wrong. Absolutely incredible.

He said: "We made it quite clear to them that we, the British Armed Forces are up for this and you are going to have a very hard time."
You gotta love the British! An American would have just said, "We are gonna kick your a$$!" Great work by the British forces!

But none of those are individual rights - just the course of doing business with private entities. If a bank refuses to do business with me unless I meet some kind of idiotic requirement under the Patriot Act, then this isn't just a case of doing business with a private entity. Banks are also required to report any transactions in excess of $5,000 to the FBI, which certainly has an impact on anyone doing business with a private entity.

Oh, my! Don't scare me like that. I thought we HAD lost him to enemy fire (his wife probably shot him). Can dream though, can't I?

I don't like that at all.
As long as the ME thinks we are getting out butts kicked, then the less interest they will have in crossing into Iraq and fighting the infidels with their Iraqi brothers.

As with every other business, if you don't want to follow their rules, then they can refuse you service.
I can't get a soda in my 7-11 if I don't wear shoes.
