Our cultural degradation made this tragedy possible. Both the feminazis and the politicos who caved in to feminazi blackmail have blood on their hands.

It pisses me off that this article only focuses on why she initially joined up, not that her parents supported her and that Jessica went into this mission knowing the dangers......she didn't run away like a certain former occupant of the WH.
They could have done a story where they did mention that she joined due to tough economic times, but in this war, she was a proud soldier serving her beloved country with courage.
No, they chose to make it sound like she died in vain and against her will. Simply reprehensible. Reprehensible and an intentional attack on this woman's character.
We should Freep the bastards that wrote this article...it does not honor this girl's memory.

I hope by some miracle she is alive. God enfold this soldier of yours...literally if she is with you in paradise this day.

news@the-sun.co.uk Make sure to put "For Will Barker" in the subject when addressing the slant to this article.

Bless this gal. She wanted the dignity of work in the military rather than being on the dole. She was mobilized and did not turn and run to Canada.
Curse the Iraquis who have no sense of honor in war. They are nothing more than thugs and terrorists. Others have been quick to condemn our nation's intentions, but stay silent when there are barbaric actions from our opposition.

I know I'll get flamed for this, but IMO young women do not belong on the battlefield. Teach 'em everything they need to know about killing in self-defense, arm 'em to the teeth, but good Lord, our fellas have enough to worry about as it is, they do not need to be worried about a female fellow soldier falling into enemy hands.
Unless of course you are talking about a group of PMS-afflicted, perimenopausal women...like me. WE could take out Saddam all by ourselves. ;^)

Women have absolutely no place in the military as now configured. If the WACS was reinstated, possibly. They cause more problems than they cure. The only way a woman should be allowed in front line combat units is if the country is threatened and about to be defeated on our own soil. I have yet to hear one good reason why they should be allowed in. Spare me the equality bs, it doesn't wash.

There are several things wrong with this.
First, she was no GIRL, she was a WOMAN. She was also a SOLDIER, by her own choice.
It seems at first somehow MORE tragic to lose a female soldier. Why is that?
Why don't we talk about the haircolor and personality of the MEN we have lost?
It is a tragic thing to lose any military personnel, a terrible thing for their family to endure. This young lady's family isn't taking the usual "our son/daughter died a hero" tack that you typically see in military families. I guess they think the evil military stole away their precious daughter.
She was an adult, she made choices, she served her country honorably and paid the ultimate price. She is a War Hero.

Call me old fashion and I will more than likely take my fair share of heat from our female freepers but I am going to post how I feel. Jessica had no business in combat as it is not a woman's place to be in combat. With all these lazy ass men who are laying up in prison doing nothing but draining billions in taxdollars away from American, why not make their time time in service and we would have no need for women in combat. I have no problem with women in the military, I do have a problem with women in combat zones.

Folks have got to get the picture. The military is not a Job Fair. It is designed to fight wars. People get killed in wars. When you join you are putting yourself in line to die. Someone is always at the front of the line.

If I could say this about WV they turned out a finer person and soldier in Jessica than they did in a US Senator name Robert Byrd and at least Jessica had no problem serving and dying with her fellow, no matter who they where unlike Byrd.

Private Jessica known as Jessie only joined up because she could not find a job in her farming community home town of Palestine, West Virginia.Geez, there are 50 states in the USA and here in California, there are many many jobs available that have nothing to do w/ joining the Military. What a biased piece of mindless drivel of an article this truly is.As if "that's all she was capable of doing". B.S. Everyone lives with their decisions they make in their lives.Anytime any soldier dies, it is a big deal, not just when a Woman dies.
