MANCHESTER, N.H. -- US Senator John Kerry, Democrat of Massachusetts, said yesterday that if President Bush could offer Turkey $6 billion to join the US-led invasion of Iraq, he should be able to find more money for public schools.
''If we can find $6 billion to get Turkey to join the war, we can fund the schools in Manchester, Concord, Keene, and across the nation,'' the Democratic presidential candidate said at a breakfast for Manchester Democrats.

Kerry, taking on the urgent big news of the day.

If John Kerry can suck $45 million out of his wife's fortune to run for president, surely he can give more money to the public schools and stop trying to pick my pocket.

he should be able to find more money for public schoolsLet's see....150 BILLION more per year than 10 years ago is spent on education & the kids are dumber than a bag of hammers, so we need MORE money?
How about allowing parents to send there kids to schools that ACTUALLY teach? Can you say vouchers?

The USA will take care of the war and finance it too. Let Manchester pay for and take care of its own schools.

I believe it was $6 billion in guaranteed loans... a big difference from flushing $6 billion down the toilets of the American public education system.

I am a student that is going into education and the reason that no teacher or anyone in education is looked at as professional is that they are all whiners!! If I didn't love kids, I would be done with these people!! I get so sick of listening to them!!

Woah, Lurch is having to dig deep to try try to be 'relevant'!!! (He knows his attempt at relevance regarding the war was a failure.) LOL!!!

This CS needs to shut the heck up right about now. we are in a crisis and his BS is not needed right now. this is hit the president on a day of military setbacks and it is transparent and grotesque. i thought he said he would postpone his campaign while we are at war.
btw, if things go badly, he voted for the resolution. the only viable candidates for the dems will be howard dean, a drafted hillary (who also voted for the resolution), al sharpton, or a reinvigorated algore.
Let's all pray for our troops, our president, and the country!
