Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

It looks like the regular Iraqi army is crumbling, but the die-hard Ba'athists are doing a lot to create resistance. This is basically good news.

It's a scary thought. The supposed "ease of advancement" has had me worried from the beginning. The Iraquis have proved so evil over the years, there's no way to really anticipate what they might do next.

Great picture, gave me an idea for Halloween costume, Iraqi dictator uniform, paunchy belly, Tarik glasses, and missle through the head (a-la Steve Martin's arrow through the head)

You know, I was thinking how bad Turkey screwed us. If we had a substantial northern front, Iraq would be forced to defend 2 fronts instead of being able to concentrate all his forces in the south. Did you see on TV today, that the Kurds in the north have their army ready & said they are ready to go after Saddam from the North. Just hope we can distinguish them from the Iraqi army!

Like I said, I think a linchpin is killing Saddam and his henchmen. When they're dead, the threats against the people disappear, and along with them the motivation to fight us.

Who's the goddess? BELLY GIRL .... the unofficial mascot/cheerleader for FR during the war.
Actually she some good looking girl with the added fine quality of having a conservative mind.
To be perfect for me all she needs is to own a gun/liquor/outfitters store in Alaska.

It should be easy to determine if it's really him. Look for the droop on his left side and the color of his nasty mustache. The thought of him possibly being alive makes me ill.

in all these POW vids and pics, why are everyone's pants undone? I've heard rumors that at least one of them was castrated prior to death.

How many of you think he dead or seriously injured? (I know I do and bet this is another pre-war recorded tape)
If he is injured do you think he will show up on TV all bandaged up? Do you think he would be to vain to show up in bandages? (this is the only reason why I want to stay up to see it, just to see if appears in bandages)
I was gone all day and left right after the confirmation the POWs were who they said they were. Can someone give me a short brief on what happened today? Thanks!
You just get into you're new Casbah in downtown Baghdad only to find the damned neighbors are burning tires again out back. FNC split pic on right.
