Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

You have a VERY dirty mind.

Yeah, I saw that on The Corner at NRO earlier, sad that these people are so dissillusioned and have such hatred toward their own country, I hope that POW never sees that post when we rescue her, Im sure she'd beg to differ
To: SoldiersGirl
That is one of the most naive, makes-me-want-to-bang-my-head-against-the-wall-in-frustration-until-I-pass-out things I have read about this war.
And I imagine the POWs (and most of the military, for that matter) will find this insulting in the extreme.
So, thanks for posting it. Sometimes it's good to get angry.

It's understandable, many were worried when David Bloom hadn't been seen for awhile
Plus I think when we see these reporters, we know our troops are still ok and it's reassuring that they are ok

Howdy folks,
I just woke up from a much needed rest. Glad to see we got rid of the Apache. I hope some of those bastards were jumping around on it when we hit it.

I'm 28 years old and my husband is away from home...forgive me in my mental filth
and I think the UPS guy is starting to be afraid of me...
To: SoldiersGirl
...but it is my hope that the POWs will discover that they were treated better by the Iraqis than they have ever been treated by the very people who are supposed to be protecting them on the battlefield. So Oprah is a DUer? Figures.

"The basic aerodynamics involved and skill to actually keep a helicopter aloft makes it more likely that problems arise"
A very good friend of mine that was an excelent pilot, fixed and rotor, that always kept his birds in top shape was killed when his Jet Ranger malfunctioned and crashed.
Choppers are far more dangerous than fixed wing.

In my defense, I had 120 hours straight of this and war coverage (less some sleep) and I needed a break. Only came up on Miss USA by chance checking for NBC war coverage! lol

If this ends soon I hope they have another target lined up next. The Swedish girls Ski Team would be interesting. That way you could combine a beauty pageant with a war...and nobody's ever tried to go after those Swedes anyway.

Good night, prairiebreeze. Here's a better thought to sleep on - Gen. Franks today, "We know for a fact that the forces on this battlefield are the most capable I've ever seen."

this music with all the weaponry, training etc for the different divisions that fox is doing before and after commercials is good psy ops. I hope they are seeing it in baghdad...
it is definitely - we can kick your ass, you mofos
To: Fledermaus
They have no choice but have to reconsider. These creeps were the ones who executed our PWs.
This was the part that required better planning. I cannot believe they seriously wanted to keep the local Baathists around.

Gertz said the Iraqi ring around Baghdad is pretty thick going south. He said they have been given authorization to use chems. (Foxnews)
