Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

O'Reilly said Bagdad will be getting a wake-up call shortly.

Russian equipmaent and technical advisors being used against American and British forces. I believe we should ask for someone's head on a platter. That too, Couldn't agree more, and a few more heads as well. Thinking Chirac's would be at the top of the list.

Yeah, but it's a fun obnoxious.....just like how he shamelessly promotes the "factor gear."

I'm a few thousand posts behind... re. treason
Haven't you figured this out yet? Of course we've executed people for treason. Methinks you're googlin' whilst you ought be reading something else.
There is no crime of "spying" in the Constitution.

There's a story at the Independent UK with that exact title. He's probably going to post it or something.

This man is another Rummy, tough, smart, witty...no patience for bad guys: (^:
Lt. Gen. John Abizaird, CENTCOM briefing yesterday:
"You're from Al Jezeera? I'm very disappointed that you would portray those pictures of our servicemen." "I regard the showing of those pictures as entirely unacceptable."
If looks could kill! Don't be messing with our Generals' troops.

BTW......I would like to go on record that I am REALLY upset with Fox for going AWAY from the war coverage to return to their regular programming.

I am wondering howmuch technology the "bad guys" got with the copter they downed today... anyone hear if it has been destroyed? CNN is doing a bit on the Apache now. There was a quick comment that the downed Apache was "gone." I don't know if they meant that we took it out or that the Iraqis moved it. I would like more info too.
I'm not worried about the stealing of hardware secrets. I'm not sure what isn't in the public domain already but I'm sure the Russians or Chinese wouldn't mind playing with it.
To: oceanview
CNN reporting it, that's all I see right now.Thanks. I don't watch CNN.

Exactly -- people need to be reminded that the ground part of the Gulf War Started 39 DAYS after the Aerial Bombardments started ... Here the Ground WAR started BEFORE the bombing -- other than the Saddam Bunker Blasting.
Also - the ground war in 1991 lasted 100 hours -- That is 4 days -- And our troops were barely on the Highway to Baghdad.
Here we are after 100 hours and we are within 50 miles of Baghdad --and have had to fight for every mile. Our ground forces are actually making better time and doing more fighting than in 1991!
