Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Rick sounds exhausted. He is getting a little taste of what our military must go through.

Most missile attacks were from the AL Samud II, that was supposed to have all been destroyed. Kuwaiti military says that at least 2 SCUDS have been fired against them.

57?! I wonder if it was more than one tape they spliced together? It was definately not a professional job. He's taking a dirt nap(or close to it).

so basically we're paying China to screw us in the UN, and paying Russia to sell jammers, etc, to Iraq. I hope president Bush forgets to mail off the check this month.
Well, yes, exactly.
Intresting point, if congress allocates the money, what happens if the Executive Branch just doesn't spend it? Are they COMPELLED to sign the checks? Can all manner of delays just "happen".

I remember seeing a press conference yesterday where someone from DOD said no SCUDs have been launched against Kuwait. I don't remember who was giving the conference.

Did anyone catch that bit about goods being shipped from Iran and being re-directed? I had to go walk my cat for a moment.

There are some discrepancies between the Kuwaiti and U.S. militaries. They say some SCUDS have been used, we disagree.

I think I heard they were averaging 2 hours sleep for every 24 hour period.

Hmmmm. So apparently he had no trouble with going to war with Iraq on the first go-around.

Mom was released late today. We were worried about cancer since she has lost four siblings to that in the last six years. All's well. Thanks
