Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

(Thread) Tariq Aziz is on now......
(comment) The guy is great
He speaks well and always seems sincere.
Never seen him backtrack or get flustered.
He seems like a teller of the truth

The Iraqi filming was done and distributed by the Iraqi government. That is a violation of the Geneva Convention. Playing devils advocate, can't a very similar point be made that reporters that are traveling with US units are doing so with the permission of the US government? It is a fine line I know.

Cat appeasement leads to more demanding, insistent cries for food. litter box scooping and petting. They already have control of our bed, what more could they want?!

See? We SHOULD take out Al Jazeera! George Tenet, get your guys busy on this project!Wouldn't that be something? Oh, the pipeline of hate stopped in their tracks. Where oh where would bin Laden tapes air, in addition to Iraqi propaganda?
Nevermind, I'm sure Petah would be happy to assist.

Al Jazeera.com? [kidding]
To: Danette
I believe George Tenet should also take that site out as well. Collaborators in time of war. Bah!

I'm watching the CNN webcam. Are those fires burning in the distance? It looks like blinking lights

LOL! Luckily my daughter never showed an interest to dress like that, just started to wear make-up. She's just always been that All American looking girl next door. (knocking on wood) Still a little boy crazy tho.

Yeah, I know. Much more has transpired including excellent discussion and analysis of all press conferences, and breaking news. I retract my statement, it was smarmy. I was just a little shocked to read all the critical comments about someone who has so much for our cause.

The Americans' bodies had clearly been violated (before or after death), and it was clear that the Americans were executed. You obviously saw a different video than I did. Where does it show they were clearly executed?
The US embedded media are not allowed to show identifying characteristics of actual POW's (surrenderees in custody).
Well, they are doing it. There have been numerous pictures of Iraqis holding white flags posted on FR.
To: seamole
Iraqi TV showed live Iraqis walking around the bodies with big smiles on their faces. The Americans' bodies had clearly been violated (before or after death), and it was clear that the Americans were executed. The US embedded media are not allowed to show identifying characteristics of actual POW's (surrenderees in custody). Iraq not only showed POW's and identified them, but also interrogated them on camera (in violation of Geneva Convention). If CBS broadcast pictures of dead Iraqis in a manner which would allow identification, then CBS's in-bed should expect some censure.
Thank you for posting this. I totally agree!

The cameraman zoomed in on the dead bodies of two Iraqis close to the end of the segment and stayed on them for at least 10 seconds. If we are going to show footage like that, we have no right to complain about the footage taken by Iraqi TV.Apples and oranges.
If it was as you say. For many reasons the two situations do not equate. And don't forget the difference between killed in action and executed and paraded on tv for the sickest of reasons.

Oh crappola!!!
I sincerely think 'that site' is kept up and running by the "Mental Health Hospitals Association for the Criminally Insane'. ONLY explanation is.... that they allow the inmates X number of hours of 'recreational' posting.
