The Kurds have their bone to pick with Baghdad and their army is under our leadership. They will not go north as in escape but south as TO BAGHDAD.

I believe the actual poll he was referring to had 93% Republican support and 50% Democrat support for the war. It's just wishful thinking on his part.

IMO wishful thinking like that, at a time like this, on national television from a lead anchor like him is just a subtle way of inciting unrest.
