French wineries are withering as millions of Americans have begun a boycott of French wine and other French goods, the New York Times reported Thursday. The Times report, "A Most Unsettling Time for French Wineries, appeared on the cover of the World Business section of the paper.
The paper reports: "So the threat of a boycott of French wines by Americans annoyed at the French position on Iraq is hard to take. And it could not come at a worse time for a struggling industry. Last year was a good year, but over all the industry is under siege.
More: ". . . one of the biggest Bordeaux wine merchants, has faxed copies of The New York Post on his desk, sent by an American friend, with photos of French wines next to California and Australian wines, under the headline Just Say Non. Over the non-French wines is printed Oui; over the French wines Non.
The boyctott of French goods comes on the heels of Frances effort to lead a worldwide coalition of nations to oppose the U.S. efforts to have the UN disarm Saddam Husseins Iraq.
Since the U.S. has led a military coalition to disarm Iraq, France has declared the action "illegal and continues to stand with Iraq.
NewsMax.com has been leading the campaign to boycott French goods. Find out how you can join the boycott Click Here Now.

No, we're supposed to boycott French women too...

I was in my local liquor store the other night looking to buy some vino. It occured to me, eff the French. I asked the owner how the bordeaux was selling. He informed me that his sales had disappeared overnight, but that the American Cabernet and Melot was selling very well. He was upset because he's left hold several hundred thousand worth of the French pisswater. I felt bad for him but great for the French.

That's what I love about Free Republic. Everyone is considerate enough to keep me from seeing the correct spelling of "FORK"!

Well I did my part. Cancelled the round trip to Paris on Air France and got a refund on the tix. Second, drank my last bottle of Grey Goose and champagne. All future bottles of bubbles will come from the Golden State of CA and vodka from Poland (Chopin). Semper Fi

Don't stop there. All Freepers alert. Boycott Airbus planes. Now, don't boycott American carriers, just refuse to fly on their Airbus planes. Fly Boeing!

I keep the list of French companies with me in the wallet. The wife does most of the shopping, so I made sure to go over it with her.
One thing I know, I'll never buy another bottle of French wine again. Let them eat grapes!!!

The French haven't yet experienced the grief that Americans will deal to their sorry asses...
Just wait:
Until Iraq is liberated and EVIDENCE of the extent of French treachery is revealed..
Until the French sit freezing in their homes, due to lack of cheap Iraqi oil....
Until the French economy crashes - while their overpriced shit sits in warehouses...
But by far the prospect that must frighten the American hating French whores the most.....Is the prospect that the fat ugly Americans will NOT come to France on holiday....
That will bust their asses...

I've heard all my life about how the french look down their noses at Americans. I've laughed it off, because I don't care what people think of me, I have respect enough for myself.
But now. Screw those people. They looked down their noses at me! I have zero respect for them now, and will have none for the rest of my life. Any future trips to Europe will NOT go through France.

I've got a great way to:
- Potentially help the small businesses that could be unintended victims of a wine boycott
- Stick it to people who aren't observing the boycott
- Help the troops and their families
- Still hurt the French wine industry
Find an exceedingly high price for the wine, that will still sell to some fools, and send the excess profit to the military charity of the business owner's choice. That way they get rid of some losing inventory, and can refrain from ordering more.
