We're bad. It's like 4th of July and the kids wondering when the fireworks are going to begin. Have to have a reality check now and then and remember these aren't just pretty colors, but people in harm's way.

Please explain your picture... Maybe that's supposed to be the 'fog of war'?

The French have surrendered!

If you look real, REAL hard, you'll see that the comment you are ripping me for is in
italics. Around here, that means I'm quoting somebody else.
Take it up with cajungirl.

It took the Germans 21 days to reach the English Channel in their invasion of France in 1941, and 42 days for the French to surrender. That would be 1940. But compared to World War I, Blitzkrieg really was lightning.

Could be part of the Stategery. Disinformation for a purpose. If the Iraqi soldiers think other Iraqi soldiers are surrendering it may make mass surrender more of a possibility.
From an earlier thread today about Aziz taking the bait:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/869886/posts The U.S. targeted the leaders after engineering reports yesterday that Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz had defected. The reports prompted Aziz to go on live television yesterday to prove his loyalty, allowing the U.S. to track the source of the transmission and follow Aziz's movements, Sky reported.

Yup, or like the folks who decided to go out by that battlefield early in the Civil War (Bull Run, was it? I'm vaguely recalling the first part of Ken Burns's Civil War) for a nice afternoon picnic and war watching.

The way you wrote this appears we are surrendering to them!
Char.(Dauphin)" On what submissive message art thou sent?"
Lord Lucy. " Submission, Dauphin! tis a mere French word;
We English warriors wot not what it means."
Shakespear.

Thanks for reminding me of that. I was always so critical of those folks. I thought they were just terrible, yet here I am...glued to the television and computer. My only saving grace is the number of prayers I have been saying for the service men and women and the innocents caught in the middle. As to Saddam...BOY I WISH WE COULD SEE THAT MOAB.

Just a joke, but: "The 7th Cavalry is rolling forward unopposed." (Last message to Capt. McDougall from George. A. Custer, commanding.)

You want a euphemism for Blitzkrieg?
How about Blixkrieg?
