Unfortunately, the 80's brought and end to all of that. Couldn't find a decent plotter anywhere. Crater Analysis, azimuths, sound bases with the "EKG" machines - no one knew how. I said what about EMP and everybody looked at me sideways - sigh...

Sounds familiar. We were all very seriously concerned about EMP in the mid'70s, I even knew people who maintained kits of shielded vacuum tube back-up electronics, unassembled.
