Thanks, was watching Shep, Basra booming

The news channels keep showing this "all is calm" feed from Baghdad. While it sounds like all h### is being rained down elsewhere.
The military is keeping this away from the media. Good for them.

Worried that we're moving on Baghdad without large #'s of surrenders or huge bombing to kill them. It's one or the other - what takes them so long to decide. Tell them to give up or we go in.

No S&A? After getting everybody's expectation up leading into the war? This is becoming real boring real fast. You can be sure the antiwar crowd will exploit this as a growing quagmire...and the financial markets betting on a quick resolution of the war will lose their upward momentum as well. With all due respect, what kind of half-assed analysis is this?
We don't just make things go boom for entertainment. Besided, S & A could well be on, and CNN is saying it could come at any time. But these military leaders know what they're doing and evidently there is hope the situation is falling apart quickly for the Iraqi leadership.
How you leap to "quagmire" is a mystery. No basis in fact.

Blix is retreating faster than a French army.

I'd read in USA Today a week ago or so that Basra was where all the action would be militarily.

#2 - what make you think this is a quagmire? Quite the opposite is true. Go back and read my post again. I never said it was a quagmire.
I said the antiwar left would call it a quagmire. This is exactly what happened in the Afghan war. Then we picked up the pace and started having victory after victory, and silenced the critics.
See #1. #3 - this isn't being played out for your entertainment. If the war is going to well that Iraqi leadership is crumbling and we don't need to place our troops and our allies troops in harm's way, and you're disappointed by that, I have to truly wonder where you are coming from
How childish. You show me the accounts of the Iraqi leadership surrendering and not just speculations, then I would be happy.
But you can't because there aren't any.
I simply want to a quick victory as was predicted by all the experts before the war started.
...and you're disappointed by that, I have to truly wonder where you are coming from.
