Listening to Dr. Laura today who read a letter from a wife
who sends her husand who is on duty, care packages on a regular basis. She said her husband gets choked up with emotion at the love that went into it. The wife asked Dr. Laura to read this letter on the air to encourage wives to do the same for their hubbys. Even more, for all of us to send packages to enlisted men who don't get any. That sounds like an awesome idea. Has anybody done this already and how do you start the process?

The GUILD on Free Republic has sent over 100 packages. If you would like to donate to our boxes or have me give you some APOs for soldiers, feel free to contact me. We have been sending packages and letters since October of 2001.

Has anybody done this already and how do you start the process? The GUILD has been doing this since action started in Afghanistan.

Tried to do that last week. Discovered from a military friend that parcels and "paper mail" are not welcome now. Too much bulk to carry with them or have sent home.
