Wrong on Specter. Right on the others, assuming that 'Lincoln' you are referring to is Chafee (RI). In addition, Snowe, Fitzgerald, McCain, and DeWine were some others I caught when the roll call was being taken. Several Dems sided with us, including Akaka, Inouye, Miller, and Landrieu.

This is really a travesty. Ted Stevens and Lisa Murkowski have been so disrespected in this process it is outrageous. It really made me angry to sit there and listen to Boxer lecture Stevens on how she knew more about his State than he did, and then she proceeded to continue using charts and pictures even after it was proven beyond reasonable doubt they were either false or irrelevant representations. It is also quite disheartening that the Senate would do this to the people that live in the area who desperately need this to provide jobs for their basic needs, such a food, water, and electricity. Again, this is simply outrageous. The liberals cannot do anything but lie, and lie, and lie.

RNC better do something about these loser Senators in Ohio.

That's just a cheap shot.
There's nothing wrong with our senators.

What is going on with John McCain these days? He's taken alot of crap from conservatives for his so called Maverick attitudew, but until recently he's always been a reliable conservatice vote. Nowadays it seems he's taking any opportunity with the more trivial legislation to vote with the Dems. It seems he's more worried about projecting an image than actually accomplishing anything. I think he prides himself on doing just enough to lower his ACU rating down to moderate levels every year.

Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., one of the Democrats who successfully blocked attempts to lift the drilling ban last year. "God only gave us 3 percent of the world's oil. The Middle East has about 65 percent ... and a 2 percent difference for the destruction of the wilderness does not solve America's problem."

This idiot must think it's okay for Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, etc. to drill in our backyards and provide HIM with enough fuel to fly his PRIVATE JET, heat FIVE HOMES, who knows how many cars, etc. but let's NOT disturb the caribou! I am so SICK of these people who hypocrites. They want ME to cut back my use of certain things while they SPLURGE and WASTE because they are the elitists!

They could ALL close down a few of their OFFICES and SAVE enough fuel for the rest of us.

Now, do we ALL see why we NEED to elect REAL CONSERVATIVES instead of so-called "conservative" Democrats and moderate(LIBERAL) Republicans? When will EVER learn?!

Last I heard Richard Lugar was a RINO on this issue.
If I remember correctly Norm Coleman was as well. I'll have to see how they voted but they've spoken against it.

THanks for the information. I have sent the following to my Senator, of course Carl Levin wouldn't have strayed from the pack of RATS.

Dear Senator Levin:

I am very disappointed in your vote yesterday in support of Senator Boxer's proposed amendment. A large portion of your constituency is involved in the automotive industry and most of these voters are aware of the true technical difficulties in increasing fuel efficiency of vehicles.
To "prevent consideration" of any future action in ANWR is irresponsible and does not represent the best interests of your constituents.

I suggest that you change the statement on your web page to a more appropriate statement. The vote that you placed supporting prevention of consideration of drilling in ANWR shows that you are not serious about "whether such spikes can be controlled in the future."

It is clear that this statement by you is politically motivated and was convenient at the time, your true view was reflected in the vote of discussion.

Your statement is below and I will be getting this information to as many of my fellow automotive workers as possible.

Statement from "Gas Prices" section of your website: (in reference to price spikes after 9/11)

"Because of the general concern about the volatility of gas prices and the suddenness with which gas prices can dramatically increase in a short period of time, I tasked the staff of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations to look into these price spikes and to find out, if possible, the cause for the spikes and whether such spikes can be controlled in the future."

E-mail the President to VETO this bill when it reaches his desk. Some 60 Billion barrels of oil is the estimated amount ANWAR is supposed to have. We don't need that much in the near future - the next step is the lovely Fuel Cell. Do some research on this fantastic energy maker, it is already here in cars, some trucks and apartment houses.

A veto would do nicely as I believe I said.

The only problem is it will never get to the President's desk as of now. Maybe after another mass casualty attack the environmental wackos will be weakened, one can hope.
