If this is true, his family will be on the chopping block. Saddam doesn't forget betrayal.

Pentagon says they have no information. BBC sais they received their info as a rumor. No confirmation that he was trying to leave the country or seeking asylum.

MSNBC did not report if he was alive or dead. Now reporting Pentagon has no information about this. BBC is reporting this as a rumor.
Sounds like MSNBC is backpeddling now.

I don't want people like Tariq Aziz running any transitional government, the guys a thug just like Saddam. If you look at that old video, when Saddam is pointing out the "traitors" in his cabinet, Aziz is in the first row. He's standing up, clapping like such a lackey, while the men were taken out and shot. He can burn with his boss. If anything, this will make the leadership even weaker. I bet they will crumble at the first moment of government weakness. I hope, at least.

"Assumption was he was shot by his Iraqi agents."
Having been by Saddam's side for more years than most anyone, he knew too much.

Okay - so far rumors have it that Tariq Aziz has:
1. Run off to Turkey
2. Fallen into the hands of the Kurds
3. Been shot trying to escape Iraq
Numbers one and three are vastly preferable for Aziz.

Sounds like they are trying to say lots of rumors could be going round today. They mentioned something about BBC and this story but I didn't catch it. Sounds like the rattlesnakes might be starting to commit suicide (Mississippi Burning)

Fox News said earlier that there were reports that Aziz had fled to Turkey. No details.

Did you ever see the Charles Bronson movie "The Evil That Men Do"? He looks like the bad guy in that movie.

Is Saddam's inner circle starting to fall apart? Gee and we haven't even surrounded Baghdad yet. Bwahahahaha!!!

Excellent, I agree! Darrin's boss (Larry Tate.)

If Aziz is really on the loose I want him captured ALIVE so he can be interrogated for info on Saddam's WMD caches and for direct evidence of French, German and Russian duplicity in selling weapons and getting oil contracts from Iraq.
I want him in CIA custody getting a thorough going over. It would probably be in Saddam's interest to kill him before he gets a chance to talk. Very much in keeping with Saddam's usual methods as well.

the fog of war is going to get pretty thick soon guys. But on the bright side, if Azziz gets interrogated or has a deathbed confession, he might be able to help stick it in the eye of france, germany, russia weasels by disclosing how he was forced to lie about NBC programs...
