It is a start. I'm equally, or even more concerned about the tens of thousands from other muslim countries.
Student visas, overstayed tourist visas, illegal entrants, etc. And legal resident aliens, and even citizens.
Should terror attempts be made at this time, it is evidence of the worldwide muslim terror threat--not to be taken lightly.

Good thing. Keep it focused on militant Islamics, not just Iraqis.

Dozens of Iraqis and suspected Iraqi sympathizers will be detained in New York and at least four other U.S. cities this week, The Post has learned. Guess no one will be left to post on DU :)

Just arrest anybody with a bad mustache and we should be safe.

This is good because Newsmax has a warning from the Iranian Ayatollah that I don't care much for.

Well, I guess it won't be long before the sreeching starts, comparing this to the treatment of the Japanese in WW2.

The detainees could come from more than 30 countries besides Iraq. They'll be held until their asylum applications are approved - which can take months. I think we're finally getting serious.

I just wonder if any of the Iraqis that are targeted for roundup were welcomed to our country after the last Gulf War.

There are a few socialist/liberal dims I would not mind seeing detained for encouraging terrorist activities.
These people siding with Saddam, cause me as much concern as those who carry out the evil deeds, some of them are elected officials.

This is disturbing news. Now we have to put up with that fat a** from CAIR and that Zogby traitor on our tv's for a while today until the war starts.

Here in the valley (home to the second largest population of Iraqis in the states), the Iraquis seem to absolutely hate and despise Saddam. The showed some Iraqis applauding president Bush's speech and indicated that this was what they had been waiting for.

In January, government officials reported a sweeping FBI probe that includes questioning of 50,000 Iraqis living in the U.S.January!!! But I've been told to think that we should have gone in last fall to Iraqi and that the last six months have been a waste of time. Even Rush Limbaugh told me to think that.
Hmmmmmmmmmm!

The roundups - part of a government plan called "Operation Liberty Shield" - will even include Iraqis who have been in the U.S. for years, a law enforcement source said. Good, they could do the most damage because they've been here long enough to provide the info the new guys need to do the terrorist acts!
