In a previous day's article, Lance Berkman, Houston slugger and a native Texan, also said he was embarrassed that the Dixie Chicks were from Texas and suggested they move to Oklahoma.

I'm glad to see it. Leftist pseudo-intellectuals will sneer. Anything which celebrates competition and excellence has that effect on socialists.

Well, as a longtime San Francisco Giants fan, I always liked Jeff Kent and I"m glad to see he supports Bush on this. Way to go, Jeff!!

Thus this is why baseball is a GREAT American sport!

Do they play baseball in France? Ha! I'd love to get ChIraq up to the plate with a bat...and me with the ball!

From the title, I thought for a minute that this was going to be a story about how some wealthy players were in the Reserves or had enlisted or something to actually show their support for the war. Or helping out at the USO. Or something. I didn't know that it was simply a story about some wealthy players saying, Yeah, I support the war, because its protecting me.

I like playing baseball for a living. That's my job. Those guys are over there willing to risk their lives so we can live our lives. How can that not be supported by anybody?"

That's it in a nutshell.
