All I am saying is that if one is a true Christian they realize everything in this world and those in it are a blessing from God...AND only for God's Glory.
America is a blessing from God. The Lord has given Bush a tremendous job of leading it...and he has done so very well I think...and with boldness. However, the Lord raises up and tears down nations at His Will. Bush's primary desire, if he is truly a Christian, is to do the Lord's Will first and always. This is not an unknown thing in Christianity. It has nothing to do with Christian taliban, whatever that is.
In Luke, from Christ's own mouth he tells us, (12:51-53) "Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two, and two against three. They shall be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against mother; mother-in-law against daughter-in-law, daughter-in-law against mother-in-law."
And (14:26) "If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple."
The point is that the word 'hate' is a relative term meaning that one's love for Christ above ALL else should make his love for others seem like hatered in comparison. Bush's love and devotion to America should not overshadow his love and devotion to the USA....and judging from his speeches, he speaks boldly for the faith so far. I hope it continues.
While you're at the pulpit - what is the difference between a christian and a true christian?
Are you implying this is a holy war?
