I think the Sikh that was killed was in AZ. It's fairly easy to distinguish between the two once you know what to look for. The Sikh turban is wrapped differently from the Muslim 'headwear'. Also, the Sikh's wear different colored turbans. There was a guy/businessman in my apt building, Sikh, who coordinated his turban to his ties. LOL.

I don't give a flip what they think. Especially since they've only lived here a few years. I also discount the opinions of Muslims who become US citizens. My opinion has more weight since my people have been here since 1902. I have more invested in the USA. Me either Dennis..

Also, Muslim men don't dress the part here in the U.S. Many's the time I see in public, a Muslim man in a polo shirt and shorts, with his wife following behind him wrapped from head to toe.
Weird double standard they have.

My people have been here since 1654, so that means I have even more say than you.
And I say a citizen is a citizen, no matter how long s/he's been here, and entitled to all rights and respect unless and until s/he breaks the law.
So now by your own rule, you have to shut up about it.

Start bitching after you've been in the USA for a few generations.Nope, you have to have been here continuously for at least 300 years.
Oops, that lets you out, but I make the grade. You have to shut up, but I can say whatever I want.

Wastin' away again down in Shariaville.
To: Illbay
My people have been here since the last ice age. Everyone needs to sit down and be quiet. What he's bitching about, and what I bitch about are those 'immigrants', whether they are citizens or not, who arrive here complaining about the way things are in the US. And, immediately set about making us over into the pest hole they just left. If they hate the way things are in the US so much...don't COME here.

No one cares what you say.

No one cares what you say. Oops, you messed up. I have been here longer, so what I say matters, and what you say does not.
Your rule, not mine.

people of Lebanese, Jordanian, Palestinian, Circassian and Syrian descentI don't care what they think. What do the Iraqi Muslim exiles and Chaldean Christians think? What do American Kurds think? What do Iranian-Americans think?

Rest assured, Patersonians, we will "help" you secure your town, proudly assisting law enforcement as responsible citizens wherever and whenever possible.
A note on the Newark-Paterson comparison, the two are night and day apart.
My most recent trip to Paterson(where I got lost looking for my destination) was an eye-opener. I knew there was quite a mass of M.E./Arab immigrants nesting in the city, but it looked more like downtown Beirut judging by all shop front appearances and native inhabitants. With enemy-profiling radar on scan, the images of seeing some had been reported following the events of Sept. 11, seiged my mind. Not exactly a scene found in Newark, btw.
I fear that the next domestic terror attack(and there will be one) will put Paterson at the top of the list for knee jerk retaliation... and I will have no empathy for them after their despicable display.
You reap what you sow.

"We pretend those days are past, but if our buttons are pushed, we'll probably react the same way," Ali said. "Most of the immigrant community would like to emphasize that they're trying to assimilate into America and they don't want to live in fear."
Does anyone else read this as a *threat*? Muhammadens don't know squat about assimilation either... In 1982 I did see them destroy the Catholic churches, burn the Crucifixes, soil the Madonnas, urinate on the altars, transform the chapels in[to] latrines. I did see them unleash the contempt for the other religions. I did see them in Beirut. That Beirut which until their arrival had been so rich, so happy, so elegant, and which today is a squalid copy of Damascus or Islamabad.... That Beirut where the Palestinians had been accepted by the Christians...
...[muslims] aim to absorb us. To change our principles, our values, our identity, our way of life. And who in the meantime molest us with their retrograde ignorance, their retrograde bigotry, their retrograde religion. I am saying that in our culture there is no room for the muezzins, for the minarets, for the phony abstemious, for the humiliating chador, for the degrading burkah. And should that room exist, I wouldn't give it to them. Because it would be like deleting our identity, like nullifying our accomplishments. Like spitting on the freedom that we have earned, on the civilization that we have installed, on the welfare that we have achieved. It would be like selling my country, my patria.

Yes I do see that as a threat. I am also greatly concerned about the safety of our military's families here at home. After Saddam's son threaten that those families would cry blood rather than tears. Strange people have been crossing our borders with backpacks and disappear before they can be picked up. Every one of us must be alert as never before, we are the Homeland Defense just as our military are defending us, we must defend their families.

I love those guys and attended their first convention...I have most of their movies. That one street Cianci St. (near the statue) and some parts of 21st Ave. are the only 2 Italian spots left in Paterson.
