I don't see how he can defend filibustering Bush court appointments either really in SD. The problem for Daschle is that he has become too national a Dem, and that is not very helpful when you are out of your zone, and that other zone is becoming more repellant to this rather squishy type as time goes by. There doesn't seem to be much sense of responsibility over on the dark side at present. It seems more akin to opportunistic demogoguery, and rather ineffectual demogoguery at that.

What you see in this man is that part of his father that ran down his mothers leg. He is scum.

About a year ago The Daily Oklahoman had an editorial about daschle and that he forgot who he represented. They said that Daschle now must believe he represented the people of New York and Massachusetts instead of the people of South Dakota. They asked what happened to the Tom Daschle that USED to represent the people of South Dakota!

rather ineffectual demogoguery at that. What do you think is leading the Daschle's of the world, on this path of destruction? Or perhaps I should have asked who?
Daschle has gone from majority leader in the Senate, to basically a saluting, yes sir man in the Democrat party. The good news IMHO is that Daschle has already decided he will not seek re-election(or someone decided for him)
The question still remains why or who?

The problem for Daschle is that he has become too national a Dem, and that is not very helpful when you are out of your zone... Remember when Daschle tried to pass a Forestry Bill that was tough on everyone except South Dakota? Remember when Daschle tried to pass a special exemption for a defunct mine in South Dakota?
