I suppose these "artists" never heard about STANDING UP FOR AMERICA. Why should they, many other Americans do, most of all those in military uniform. I hope they enjoy their lives living in another country where they don't have to apologize for its leader - like Cuba?

The whole Dixie Chick popularity to me has the appearance of a passing fad... I just never suspected they would have the longevity of Reba, the Judds, etc. The stupid anti-Bush statement, IMHO, is just the catalyst for the declining fan base.
I have never been a fan of the Chicks and strongly suspect that their entire popularity was a clever record company publicity campaign to generate a fan base for an all female country band. Play a group's songs long enough and often enough and hopefully people will think that everyone loves this music style.
The Chicks do have a few good songs, but IMHO there are many other more talented (and more country) musicians who do not get whiff of the ad money/air time the Chicks have.

Any one else remember what happened to K.D. Lang's career when she spouted off that "Meat Stinks". She was never heard on a country station again. I hope the Dxy Cxs saved some of their money, coffee bars in San Francisco won't pay quite so well.

When the war is over, when Saddam is gone, when his hidden weapons caches are on display for the world to see, and when Iraqis are living in freedom, we must not allow anyone to forget the obstacles we had to clear to make it all happen. The French and their ideological soul-mates here in the US will try to wallpaper over their previous comments and actions. Does anybody remember the obstacles to our action in Afghanistan?

""As a concerned American citizen, I apologize to President Bush because my remark was disrespectful. I feel that whoever holds that office should be treated with the utmost respect."> What the writer fails to mention is that this was the *SECOND* attempt at an explanation (the first could *not* be considered anything near an apology) at justifying the original remark made on foreign soil in front of an anti-American crowd. The first explanation didn't get the Chicks very far and actually hurt them more. So Gnatalie came up with this lame attempt.

I think the apology came immediately after their "money manager" handed them welfare applications.

Here are two replies I recieved from Wolf 95(Texas) radio station manager & program director, in response to my request that they discontinue playing the "chicks".
Hi ...
We are sending every Wolf listener comment to the Chicks' management and record label. We are not in favor of adding or subtracting to the situation. The Wolf listeners have spoken!
Thank you for taking the time to howl at us with your thoughts.
Take care and God Bless America!
we have stopped playing their music at 11a today. Thanks for your note.

I was driving on I-75 N. in Toledo this morning and saw that a clean finger had scribbled these words into the dirty backside of the semi-truck:
DIXIE CHICKS ARE UN-AMERICAN
Glad the word has been out and be seen by millions of fellow drivers (without having to vandalize the semi)
