Since Iraq has already rejected the "exile" option, there's no more reason for Bush to give a two-stage statement -- first being leave or else, second being bombs away. However... Was just listening to the House of Commons. They will have their formal debate to authorise Blair's commitment of troops TOMORROW morning. Unfortunately, Bush sorta hasta wait to say "Let's roll," until Commons tells Blair, "Okay."
Considering the latter factor, the war looks to start Wednesday, Baghdad time.

The vote won't be "no." A "no vote" would amount to a vote of "no confidence" for Tony Blair, and the U.K. government would likely collapse.
Since there is NO sign of any of that, you can bank on the fact that Blair knows he's got the votes to spare.
Remember that the British government is NOT like ours. There is no effective "separation of powers."

That's correct. And therefore Blair knows he has the votes.

Re "no advance text for tonight's speech" -- I sure HOPE not -- the element of surprise MUST remain. And we'd better not announce the specific war start-time, either. What utter foolishness that would be.

GWB: "I would just like to address these remarks to the military and civilian leadership of Iraq. Deliver Hussein to us dead or alive and we will stop our aerial capaign which begins as I speak. That is all."

Could somebody please explain to me how having Saddam leave the country is a solution? Do we then go in and find and destroy everything ourselves? Do all the bad guys on his side leave, too and a new, civilized government gets set up?

The clouds and mild temps in Baghdad ought to work well

Weeeelllllll the bio-solid is ready to hit the fan! I just pray that that old clique does come back to haunt us...
No matter how tactical the battle plans of Generals are, when the bullets start to fly the bio-solid hits the fan!
We are either going to come out of this smelling like roses or we are not going to come out of it at all......
