Got back from Rally for America in Valley Forge. Planning stunk. It took an hour to get the last mile to park. Then there was 2,000-3,000 people waiting for the shuttle buses. Got on one and drove to the rally site. Bus was not permitted to unload. So we drove back to parking site. 1210 didn't even cover the event on the radio. The site had too much traffic for the roads and I assume we were turned away because of too many people. Post your comments here.

in a hurry .. copied this from the "unofficial Glenn Beck Rallly for America forum"
I was at Philly yesterday & Cleveland a few weeks ago. Both were inspiratonal & fun.
Problem is the locations with so little access & parking. Stations who plan these need to get some of "us" who are capable to find the best locations & arrange some of the deatils.. As the weather stays nice, play to bike to the site from a remote parking area. With kids that is tougher if you dont want them on main streets
GET THERE EARLY. I was in Cleveland at 8 & at Philly at 10.
at Philly I parked about a mile from the rally center & walked with my pooch, who was my only travel companion. I left Ohio at 2 AM to get there early.
Yes, it was tragic to see the people that missed both of the rallys. The police that I spoke with at the Philly rally said that 10000 was a conservative estimate of the people INSIDE... not those who turned away etc.
The stations did their best.. I truly belief they did not expect to have the large turnouts we have been having. In a way that is a GOOD problem. Wouldn't it look foolish to have a 75,000 seat stadium & 2,000 in it?
But for any further rallies I would hope they get a LARGE Venue, with ample ONSITE parking..I think once we start kicking A in Iraq there will be even more interest & hopefully some of the owners of the bigger sites, will volunteer them. FREE
In cleveland/Northeast Ohio, I could have thought of a dozen better sites. I do not know Philly/valley forge..
FOr those of you that missed it.. I feel so badly. It was a good (but muddy - for we early birds who were in front) expereince

I will never forget the sight of the flag drifting over the trees, much less the inflation. A soul stirring site. I wish that I could have been with y'all.

In cleveland/Northeast Ohio, I could have thought of a dozen better sites. I do not know Philly/valley forge.. Well, the good thing is that you made it. We heard all the complaints and they were legitimate. But we talked about alternate sites and we really couldn't come up with anything better.
It's like you said, if we decided to put the program into Veteran's Stadium, and did not fill it up, we'd look like smacked a-----es.
As it turned out, we--those of us who made it-- had a wonderful experience. I wish that we--the Freepers-- had done a little more work. We could have picked a spot to meet and maybe had some kind of Freeper identification garb. Those of us that got together enjoyed ourselves.
Please let me know when you are going to be in the area again. Maybe we can have a cuppa together.
