Here's a corporate policy doomed not to last as long as the Iraqi army. Want to bet it's changed by noon tomorrow?

my crappy photochop bump. Hardly. If far from appearing to be the work of a professional graphic artiste it has the character of a nice down-home grassroots effort, and will likely inspire an interesting variety of imitators in a similar vein.
And I'm sure PoopBoys will just love having the small sticker versions plastered on their store doors and windows.
Great job, and thanks. I'm off to Kinko's!

Your practice of terminating employees who are serving in the armed forces has cost you at least one customer. What immoral, illegal rats you are to ruin families financially while they are fighting to protect you and your business.
Thanks for that puke boy link - good job.
Let's see if we can't crash their server with letters of protest.
Cheers.

"Pep Boys consistently cooperated in accommodating those obligations," Hale wrote. "Pep Boys made the difficult decision to terminate him because his performance and judgement declined to an unacceptable level. His military service played no role whatsoever in the decision." Hmmm, they fired him the same day he reported for duty and was told by Pep Boys that we was being terminated for "job abandonment." According to this article, "the lawsuit indicates Balodis had worked 20 days in a row for the company without a day off before the termination" and he was recognized repeatedly for his good work with the company.

That's an excellent suggestion. If Auto Zone is run by something other than Capuchin monkeys, they'll jump on it! Here's my e mail to Pep Boys:
Uh, guys....I'm not going to pretend that the firing of a naval reservist from his Pep Boys job is going to make me boycott Pep Boys. I CAN'T boycott you ; your nearest store is a five hour drive away! But I wanted to say three things :
1. The internet has created a huge online conservative/patriot family of sites. And they're ALL talking about the firing. Free Republic alone has 100,000+ registered posters, and who knows how many lurkers.
2.The backlash against Pep Boys-in areas where there actually ARE Pep Boys-is apt to be huge.
3. This makes your company look like it's run by incredibly stupid and ignorant people. Guys, my DOGS know you CAN'T fire people who are reservists , if they miss work because of that status. It's a federal law. How in the name of God does a modern compnay wind up with managers so dirt-ignorant that they think they can fire someone for a reason like that? And the pathetic attempts of the AZ store people to pretend that wasn't the reason...Give me a break. Pep Boys would be wise just to cut Mr. Balodis a check with a lot of zeroes in it right now, because if this case goes to trial, even Lionel Hutz will eat you alive!

Here's my email to the PEP BOYS web site:
I hear that you fired a Navy reservist because he was called up. I am in the NC Air Guard, and because I am a reservist, I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from your stores again. I will tell EVERYONE I know NOT to buy anything from your stores, and to SELL your stock if they own any. How about if you learn some patriotism, losers!

Because they are defending your right to make extremely stupid comments. So basically you're in favor of letting the government jerk the folks who're willing to serve around? Putting the cost of national defense on the troops and their employers instead of where it belongs, on all taxpayers equally?
