My favorite part was when Bush said...
"So far Saddam has made bad decisions"

I applaud the President's anger with this incessant foolishness. What 1441 defined was the last chance for Saddam to PROVE he is disarming and has decided to stay disarmed! Disarmament is what was stipulated in 687, in 1991 as a major portion of the cease-frie! The military action about to take place is the extension of the Gulf War and disarmament of Iraq, because the threat of Iraq in the region will never end with Saddam and/or the Ba'athist party in power in Iraq.
What the documented lack of cooperation full and complete shows is, Saddam may destroy this or that, but he will just as quickly rebuild ... because he has not chosen to take the path of disarmament he stgripulated to in 1991! Until he is decapitated and his Ba'athist party removed from Iraqi life, the threat of Iraqi state sponsored terrorism will NEVER be ended.

FNC reporting that German ambassador thinks it would be a good thing for the US to go alone and then have to come back to the UN with hat in hand to ask for help in post-War Iraq.

They were asking Blair and Bush jumped in...Nope. It was the turn for the press to ask a question of Anzar, but he started with a long-winded 2-part question that the reporter specifically said he was asking of Blair and Bush(which I thought was rude since it was the time to ask Anzar a question) and then at the end added a question for Anzar. Bush then immediately responded, then turned to Blair, who gave his comments, and Anzar finished up.

remember Rwanda, or Kosovo...UN didn't do its job...if tomorrow they don't do their job we all have to figure out how to make it work...UN will def. need to have a role, begin to get its legs of responsibility back... Bush plans to put the UN in a halfway house, handing out AIDS meds to starving Africans but no longer involved with security questions, after the vote fails tomorrow. That's smart: keep them around, still hoping for a comeback, like Arafat. Who knows? They may have their uses down the road, plus it will be fun to go over there and bitch-slap them every now and again, just for kicks. Hope de Villepin likes his new gig (big frog, small pond).

So...what happens tomorrow? Go back to the UN? Make some more phone calls? Present the "second" resolution?Either the other countries join us or we go in ourselves. When? I had guessed Thursday privately, but now it may be sooner with a 24 hour deadline.
It is plain as can be they are merely giving the other UN countries a chance to join us---but this group is done listening to further proposals *from* the UN.

That's the way a President ought to talk, not like Bubba who had to take a poll before he would open his mouth

Germany is saying that the US will crawl back to the UN following action Bush said the UN had a role in rebuilding. I can live with that, US will break it, you can rebuild it, we (USA) will make sure the benefit goes to the Iraqui people.

Bush: "Show your cards an old Texas/poker expression ......France's threatening veto has shown its cards. The UN must mean something." Yes! Bush just called Chirac's hand and now Chirac is a loser no matter what he does!!
