Pres Bush: Cards have been played....UN is very important, which is why I went there on 9/12/02....let's make sure your words mean something....cooperate cutting the money of terrorists...remember Rwanda, or Kosovo...UN didn't do its job...if tomorrow they don't do their job we all have to figure out how to make it work...UN will def. need to have a role, begin to get its legs of responsibility back...

Sadam has 24 hours.
UN can chime in if it wants, it too has 24 hours.
US/UK will act responsiblyu, and aim to make the world safer; give Iraq back to the Iraqis.
Ohhhh -- "France showed their cards" says Bush. UN is important . . . if UN is going to pass resoultions, make the words mean something, e.g., cut off terrist money, affect nations that harbor terrorists, US/UK/Spain are cooperating; UN didn't it's job in Rwanda or Kosovo. UN can have a role in post-Sadam Iraq, to get it's sense of responsibility back. UN is not relevant in disarming Iraq, is how I read this.

Seems a little odd to me that the headline for this conference comes from an answer to a reporter's question rather than from the prepared remarks. I'm sure there's a reason for everything, though.Bush DID say "the moment of truth is tomorrow" in his prepared statement.
Seems that wasn't clear enough for some...
President Bush just pointed out that "one country did vote" by declaring their intent to veto.

Bush: "Show your cards an old Texas/poker expression ......France's threatening veto has shown its cards. The UN must mean something."
Bush has had it with France et al who shirk their duty.
