American protester run over by an Israeli bulldozer in Gaza and killed. Developing...
I'm not so sure. Exactly why was the house being bulldozed? chances are, it was the home of a terrorist. It certainly gives such terrorists support to know that they can count on naive bigots (and these "activists" are bigots, for they believe that somehow an American life is more meaningful than a Palestinian life) to defend their property. This woman was supporting the murder of civilians.
Yes, it is sad that a human life was lost, but the really sad thing is that she went so far astray that she killed herself in support of terror.
I feel the same sadness for her death that I will feel soon for the deaths of Saddam's soldiers.
A Rachel Corrie Iverson-Long graduated from Woodinville High School in 1998. Is this the same person? The age is about right.
I have not a gram of sympathy. Rather, I should like to send a 'thank you' note to the IDF soldier who exterminated yet one more apologist for evil.
Bump.
No, there is nothing funny about a young woman who bought into the anti-Israel BS. She is one of many young people in this country that has allowed the Liberals to convince her that: Israel=bad, Palestine=misunderstood sufferers.
Rainbow? Palestinian? UN? Soviet?
No. Chinese and Iraqi.
So true, but that's the recurring legacy of Evergreen State College.
The actual sadder truth is that the Daily Olympian (known as the daily "O" or daily "zero") will likely do a couple of full-page spreads on her. They'll make her look like the man in tainmen square standing in front of the tank. She'll be a local hero.
That she was fighting for terrorism and the continued horror of the Arafat sector will be utterly lost on them.
Don't agree with you on this. There's a difference between committing a violent act (bombmaking, etc.) and being a protester.
She put herself in front of a moving bulldozer expecting it to stop. It was a gamble with a risk.
Totally agree with you on this. She put herself in danger but that doesn't make it a laughing matter.
This site is quickly developing into one of the biggest hate sites on the web. What happened? How can people cheer the deaths of others such as this girl regardless of her politics? Is the voice of the mob becoming so emboldened that they can now openly advocate the actual killing of anyone they chose to label as commie or liberal or leftist? How about just kill everyone who disagrees? How did we degenerate to such a state?

The long-time Marxist revolutionary leaders of the "peace" movement were upset when the pro-Democracy Chinese student protestor stepped in front of the tank in Tiananmen Square in 1989 because it made the wrong party - the Chinese Communists - look bad. Same with Chavez today in Venezuela. These "peacenik" leaders are on the side of the self-proclaimed Maoist Chavez - though he's stripping his people of their rights, killing and imprisoning those who protest. With friends like these..."Peaceniks" = Peacemakers.
Over on DU someone said "What, did they think she was a *terrorist*? And they are right. She wasn't a terrorist in the common definition. She was an American who threw away her opportunities here to use her "American body" to protect terrorists abroad. I have no doubt she thought she was immune. Twisted.
Speaking of ratt's butts, has anyone seen Ellen Rattner recently?
Or has she been put in hiding since she spilled the beans about the 'rats hope the war goes badly so Bush won't get re-elected?
Sure, be happy to:
The PLO wants to push Israel into the sea. They will stop blowing up children only when every Israeli is dead. The Israelis will stop killing the PLO when the PLO stops killing Israelis. Pretty simple, really. Supporting the PLO means supporting the eradication of Israel, and that is a naive goal. Israel, whether you like them or not is not going away. The power to end the conflict rests on Arafat.
Really ---terrorists aside ---it's very stupid to jump in front of a moving bulldozer anywhere at anytime.
