Please grow up, stop complaining and worrying about being "inconvenienced" and act like an adult AND an American. America has been and is at war with people who want us all dead. This is reality so deal with it.

P.S. If you’re that concerned about flying... stay home and hide in your basement or take the bus or a boat.

Actually this was what bothered me more: "It is reported that ground and air troops are to go to war at the same time"

Another factor to get ground troops moving right at the beginning is to allow them to disperse and limit pre-emptive or retalitory WMD attacks. They are all bunched up on the borders -- it would be wise to thin them out a bit and have them on the move -- much harder targets to hit.

Oh, I agree, and for other strategic reasons, also, given the type of threat. But if this is a leak, there is still risk in telegraphing parts of our strategy.

But it could also be disinfo.

I remember in '91 that everyone was convinced that we were going to mount a massive amphibious assault with the Marines through Kuwait. Never happened. All of Saddam's surrender monkeys were pointed the wrong way when our guys came racing across the sand at their flank!

That armor is British, it must be a British brigade.

If this is a leak, knock ABC radio off the air for 12 hours.

Imho, it really doesn't matter. The Iraqis know we are coming. The only variables to them are the date and time. And the date and time variables are quickly approaching 1.

Ticktickticktick...

The troops have been ordered to open the packs with their "War Grade" chemical suits.
The suits are only good for 45 days after the seals are broken.
We do not have enough certified suits for a second issue.

Therefore we must be planning to have Iraq conquered and all WMDs found and siezed within 45 days.
We cannot not fight, because we cannot get our troops out of the area in 45 days and if they are there without CBW protection, Saddam would almost certainly make an attack on them.

I too think that it is a war council, in the sense that they will hash out how to make that final step from diplomacy to war.

My guess is that the six fence sitting countries are not getting too many calls today. I bet they know the real state of affairs. Their 15 minutes of notariety on the international scene are over.

If this is a leak, knock ABC radio off the air for 12 hours.

My guess its a controlled leak. Its far less messy if Saddam goes first. I think we are playing chicken to certain degree.

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. (AP) - Security forces at Vandenberg Air Force Base may use "deadly force" against protesters if they infiltrate the military complex if a war starts, officials said.

bringing in troops on the ground from the get go is a FINE idea, that is the essense of combined arms assault.

It will shorten the war and save lives. The troops on the ground can bag the surrendering Iraqi forces, our armor can readily smash any opposition, the apaches can go in

Our ground forces will also secure the oil fields and
capture secondary cities prior to baghdad.

IMHO air-only would be a big mistake, as it would leave our own ground forces vulnerable to WMD attack and leave saddam open to hiding forces in civilian areas and blowing up oil wells. The more ground we capture the less we have to bomb.
Troops on the move on the ground can stop those activities and thus save lives.

IMHO, we could be within baghdad's perimeter in 3 days, and another week could finish the job and topple saddam. that is the hope anyway.

I'm not weeping for See-BS, the good thing is that we will be able to watch all 4 NCAA Tournament games for free each day on TNN, BET, TV Land, and Nickelodeon (all owned by CBS)
