VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. (AP) - Security forces at Vandenberg Air Force Base may use "deadly force" against protesters if they infiltrate the military complex if a war starts, officials said.
Some anti-war activists plan to trespass onto base grounds in hopes of disturbing Vandenberg's mission and to vandalize sensitive equipment they contend helps guide the war effort.

Inside it is not so bad. I have ear plugs in the console for just a use. I got caught in some stupid protest a few years ago and had my way block. The horns worked great so did pulling out my Bear Pepper Spray can to show the clymers. The alarm cycle honks the horns in a way that is truly annoying and deafening.

A very similiar incident at my large naval station.
A green Ensign, first time as Officer-Of the-Day, thought he could drive the big black Ford anywhere on the base.
He entered the restricted area and they shot the car all up and dragged his sorry butt out and handcuffed him.
He had to pay for all damages, entries were made in his records and he never made it to LT(jg).

Keep moving. Unless I would hit the car in front of me then I would stop an inch from their bumper. If no car in front accellerate.

That protest was at the Concord Naval Weapons Station. If I recall correctly, he was paid some sort of settlement for having his legs cut off! Bizzaro world!

We may need a new President for the West Wing TV show. Martin Sheen has been known to hop fences as part of his protests. He hops this one he might find him self DEAD.

The deadly force policy will not deter protesters, said Peter Lumsdaine of the Vandenberg Action Coalition, one of the organizers of the planned trespassing. You are absolutely right, Peter!
Just go right on ahead....

Hot about anyone that hops the fence gets treated as an enemy combatant and is given a one way flight to Guantanamo for the duration.

The war protests in the '60s were about one thing: the draft. When the draft was taken away, the protests stopped too. Of course the communist infiltrated the "peace" movement and used it for their own ends, as they do today. David Horowitz has written about that extensively.

This JG got $hitcanned by the CO as soon as he could get a replacement. My friend got an early promotion and the lance went to sargent.
This was in the early 70's and my friend had a funny feeling about the guy. The guy was later discharged on a mutual convenience for him and the Navy. My friend felt that the guy was up to no good. He may just have been arrogant.

Fast or slow move?I'd have to flip a coin. Tails=slow, heads=fast. Tails, she might live to protest another day. Heads...well, she wouldn't be able to pollute the gene pool anymore.

What would you do if she was in front of your car? Who was in the car? Somebody important? Or just some average person trying to get to work?
Their tactics make no sense.

The deadly force policy will not deter protesters Guess again.
No question, it'll cut way down on repeat offenders.

What would you do if she was in front of your car? <p.I'm a nice guy - I'd jump out of the car and bash her with my mag-light until she either moved or became immobilized so that I could drag her worthless carcass off of the road. Gut instinct is to put it in 4WD low-range and drive over her, but I'm not quite ready for that.

The policy may not deter them, but when its carried out, it will. As a guy from the British Navy said they used to put it, "Shoot one to inspire the rest."
