Hey bro, I just emailed my two main country stations about this-- one of 'em (the less "pop" of the two), I am proud to say, has already made a statement refusing to play ditsy twits songs anymore, and I encouraged the other one to do the same...

Good for you, SpookBrat! Thanks. Good letter, right to the point. Bill O'Reilly would like it's pithyness . . .

True. All military/other service branches (CIA, etc.) that go to combat deserve full respect for putting their lives on the line for our country.

I've (for the most part) shrugged off the anti-American comments from other performers, but this one actually hurt me, since I'm a Texan and have been a fan of the Chix for more than ten years. As a Midlander and supporter of GWB, I felt that they personally insulted me.

I know Maines is from Lubbock. I was raised in Lubbock.

Excellent ! I saw that earlier. GOOD Windows Media Player radio excerpt of the Iraqi National vs. the "Little Girl" Peacenik Goober ! . . .

See #82. It looks to me like they are not native "Texans", but may be transplants from the Northeast actually . . .

(At the South by Southwest Music & Media Conference, Asleep at the Wheel co-founder Ray Benson defended the Chicks: "I applaud the Chicks for saying what they believe. If radio stations think they need to censor musicians for their political beliefs, those stations should move to Iraq.")
The stations are responding to their listeners, not censoring. If the DC were releasing an anti-war song (can they beat Madonna?), and stations refused to air it, that would be censorship. If Maines called in for some anti-war chat with the DJ and he refused to put her on air, that would be censorship. This is just part of a free-market economy...businesses acting in their own best interests, and giving listeners what they want and deserve ~ the same freedom of speech Maines so enjoys.

Thanks for the ping, MnM -- and for posting links to the boycotting stations. I hope somebody's developing a list of web-present stations that join the boycott. As soon as they bashed President Bush (on foreign soil!) it was already way too late for apologies. Maybe the DCs can give a concert at one of ANSWER's commie rallies. They'd fit right in.

"While Ms. Maines softened her anti-war stance..."Christensen ought to read more carefully. She didn't "soften" it, she completely contradicted it as soon as it was pointed out to her that she was throwing away money and fans. Far as I'm concerned, she's an America-bashing little POS -- at least Sarandon and Sheen have enough integrity to be consistent in their hatred of America.
To: Squantos
BTW does anyone know if any of these three are really from Texas or are they just claiming such for PR ? I could'nt find such in the on line bios. Just what state do they live in ? I'm not sure where the other two actually live, but that midget cow Natalie lives in Austin. The Dixie Twits have their origins in Texas for sure. They played all of the local venues in Texas for years before hitting the big time.
